I have one of those jobs that entail a lot of driving and moving around in the field. Most of the time this means skipped meals and car snacks. I’m well known amongst my colleagues for always carrying a zip lock bag with raw almonds and cashews in my purse. However healthy that may seem, my sweet tooth nags at me and I find myself reaching for the 3-piece set Frerro Rocher in an attempt to tell myself ‘I’ll just have one’. To cut the story short, I made these almond bites to tame my sweet tooth, and add healthy to the equation.

Let’s get to it, shall we?
You will need:
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp instant coffee (optional)
- 2/3 cup low-fat yoghurt or milk (yoghurt makes it fluffier)
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
How-to:
- Add wet ingredients, then slowly add dry ingredients till you get a slightly firm mixture.Β [If mixture is too watery, freeze for 30 minutes till it hardens a bit. If the mixture is too firm, add a little skimmed milk.]
- Scoop Β½ tablespoon and place on baking tray, and dip one almond into it.

I was wondering why you’re keeping those recipes to Instagram only;) good you’re finally finding the time to post π Delicious! My ziploc ( and Gia’s) is cashews, walnuts, almonds, dried apricots. Sometimes, it includes my cocoa- date fudge bar to satisfy a sweet tooth craving π however, I don’t give those to Gia in the late afternoon as she will get hyper and miss her bedtime…the dates provide her with a sugar rush like no other π
its just so much easier to add recipes on insta, but then i realized – searching for them isn’t at all. After my friend her pic tonight, i got excited and decided to post. I have a few other recipes lined up as well. our zip locks good bags are similar heheh π i usually have cashews, almonds, and raisins for the sugary touch. cocoa-dates is a dangerously good mix and i know i’d never be able to stick to just one or 2 of those! hahah Gia, i wouldnt be able to resist giving this girl anything she wants, shes too adorable smAlla!
Tell me about it! Sometimes, I write mini posts on Facebook and think why I’m not writing them on the blog!!! The sense of perfection ( editing/good pictures/referenced research …) on the blog is sometimes a hindrance and shouldn’t be.
Gia would love a yoga class :))
I totally agree, I’m sure there r simpler ways since a new ‘health’ blog pops up every other day. Some days it seems like everybody is a nutritionist, haha! I think u and I r just perfectionists in some ways. Also, I keep telling u – I can’t wait to see mommy and daughter yoga pics for u 2! Maybe even me in the background Haha. P.
