Angelina Jolie would be jealous from all the attention Jackie Chamoun has been getting over her boobs the past few days. It’s been all over our news and homefeeds as a much exagerated response to a photoshoot done 3 years ago.
So let’s put all this publicity to good use – and introduce some tips to keep your breasts healthy (for stripping and other purposes)
Tips for Healthy Breasts:
1- Nutrition
As with everything else, good nutrition can be key in preventing cancer. I have already compiled a list in this post about some of the foods to constantly stock up on. However, there has been some evidence that emphasized the importance of folic acid in preventing breast cancer.
Folic acid rich foods: green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, beans (legumes), and whole grains. A few examples would be:
- Spinach — 1 cup = 263 mcg of folate (65% of daily needs)
- Lentils — 1 cup = 358 mcg of folate (90% of daily needs)
2- Weights (and losing weight!)

Don’t be afraid to “bulk up” or buff up just because you’re hitting the weights and not just cardio. Women are not phyisically built the same way as men, and so it is not phyiscally possible that we would bulk up the same. Use weight training to strengthen your muscles, and couple it with a cardio workout for a happy heart. Overall normal body health can help prevent diseases, and increase your chances of surviving them as well.
3- Alcohol
Limit your intake of alcohol to no more than 1 drink per day. Some research has shown that two drinks a day could increase breast cancer risk by 21%.
4- Know your body
Learn to self test. No one will know your body as well as you. Keep a lookout for unusual changes no matter how trivial. Know your family history as cancer, particularly since breast cancer has a genetic predisposition. Starting age 40, screening is recommended every 3 years (sooner if you have a family history). There is a simple guide here.
This last tip is not relevant to breast cancer alone but it’s one that I personally wanted to add and that is:
5- Love your body.
Don’t fill it with poor gasoline and act surprised when it runs out of energy. Fuel it right, and take care of it TODAY, so it can last you till tomorrow.
Happy healthy boobs!
