I might have embellished in my title a little, because its actually 5 ingredients – but they are SO minor and easy that you probably already have them in your kitchen. Before further ado, let’s get the bread rolling!
You will need:
- 2 cups flour (it was my first try so I used regular white flour, but I do definitely recommend whole wheat or a mixture of both at least)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (3 if you are NOT concerned with fat and caloric content and just want yummy bread)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
1- Add all the dry ingredients and mix well
2- Combine oil with 1/4 cup of water and then mix with the dry ingredients. Slowly add the rest of the water, as needed. The final dough should be thoroughly mixed without being sticky so you might not actually need all this water, OR you might need a little more. As you knead the dough, you’ll be able to tell better how much water to use.
3- Divide the dough into 8 smaller balls.
5- Heat a nonstick saucepan, cook each side for about a minute (you do not need oil for this step)
6- VIOLA! You have homemade tortilla-like bread! Enjoy!

The AWESOME news here is that this is absolutely delicious, low in fat and all the fat in this recipe is omega 3 (healthy fats!); contains no additives, sugar, or unknowns. So the best advise here is invest in good quality + high fiber flour and you’ve got all you need! Y-U-M!!
Enjoy it for breakfast with some labneh and veggies like I have been. Bon appetit!
