British researchers have developed a test to detect Alzheimer’s disease in its earliest stages, which works by looking for a combination of “markers” in the blood which are different in healthy people and those with the disease. This is a breakthrough because it finally enables us to distinguish between healthy people and those with Alzheimer’s using a blood test. However, it could be a decade before the test is used on patients due to rigorous testing, but this is exciting news nonetheless.
This will hopefully lead to earlier detection and better treatment for Alzheimer.
